DIY Art: The Bedroom

Source

I am completely obsessed with Apartment Therapy.  And so when they posted a beautiful house tour followed by a DIY tutorial on how to make really fun art for your bedroom, I swooned.  I filed this post away in my “To Do” file and guess what.. it never got done.

I was reminded of it again today when AT showed Stacie’s take on the bedroom art and it reminded me how much I love love love this technique. In our house we have NOTHING on the walls. Not a thing. Money was spent on furniture so we had places to sit and eat and not on art for our bare bare walls.  I needed something low cost and with high visual impact.

I already have a giant canvas for over our bed, now I just need to go get some vinyl letters, spray paint and come up with a cool quote or song lyrics that would be great for the bedroom. I’m ok with something risque or suggestive. Here are some options:

“Sex is emotion in motion” – Mae West
“You have to promise not to stop when I say when” – Foo Fighters, Everlong
“what a beautiful dream that could flash on the screen in a blink of an eye and be gone from me” – Neutral Milk Hotel, Aeroplane over the Sea
“sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble” – The Beatles, Michelle
“With you beside me I have won” – Michelle Featherstone, We are Man and Wife (our wedding song, sappy I know but I love it!)
“Strange what desire will make foolish people do” – Chris Issak, Wicked Game

I think the front runner is Chris Issak’s Wicked Game lyric. I love it and that song. What do you think?
